Goodies in the Mail

DSCN2385 I received these wonderful scrapbook materials from Jessica at Noguchi Designs today.  I was the         winner of her giveaway during the 2014 Grow You Blog Party.  Thank you Jessica.

Finish Up Friday —- Grow Your Blog Party.

Well, I was so excited about sewing the hexagons earlier that I didn’t notice that I stitched the rows wrong until after they were pieced.  So I’ve been putting off cutting out more hexagons. Ahhh!! Plus I dImageidn’t have quite enough fabric left.  Well I took all the hexagons with the precut foundation templates fused and turned, apart, Ironed and recut.  I have just enough to  remake my block.  Yeah!   Plus since this was such tedious job, I watched a few episodes of the Quilt Show on line.   That made it quite a fun day.

Valentine’s Day!  Have not done a thing.  Not even a card.  My husband is going to the ballgames tonight to watch some of his students play.  I am going to quilt and finish up the veggie soup.  Tomorrow we might go out to eat.

Grow Your Blog Party !!!!!  I will be drawing late this evening and posting the winner of my Nifty Fifty give-a-way.

I will also finish hand sewing the binding on my mug rugs for the Quilting Gallery Mug Rug swap.  My daughter likes them so much I have to make a second set fro her.  I won’t post until my exchange partner gets them.

Above you can see the size of the 2″ dolls compared to my keyboard. I’ve been slowly satin stitching the Matryoshka dolls.  Now I really wish I had done the blanket stitch on them.  I am debating on whether or not this would be okay.  I was thinking as long as the dolls in each square were appliquéd the same it would not matter.   Any opinions?E blockresized

Grow Your Blog 2014

Hi! My name is Dolores! Welcome to my blog. I love gardening, photography and art.  Mainly, I am a quilt artist.  Most of my work is original pieces.  My daughter’s artwork has been featured in many of my quilts .  I do a lot of applique, free motion quilting and thread painting.  This is where I post about my artwork  and my process.  You can see  the  steps I go through to improve or learn new skills, or see a quilt come together I hope you enjoy browsing around my studio and my garden.  Be sure to follow me if you enjoy your visit.
